Someone called pain a gift that no one wants to receive. That is how most of us view suffering, even suffering that is directly related to the fact that we follow Jesus. But today we learn that the attitude might well be short-sighted. Let's reason together (Isiah 8:18) and remember Jesus' warning: we should be careful how we listen (Luke 8:18).
